Shoot ’em up!

January 24, 2013

I agree, but the physical standards should be the same for men and women. Either women have to meet the higher standards or the standards are lowered to a reasonable [?] compromise.

Religion again

January 4, 2013

It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so. -Robert A. Heinlein, science-fiction author (1907-1988)

Fraidy cats

I for one, have never understood why men are so afraid of educated and intelligent women.  This seems to be over top in 3rd world countries.

Not much justice here.

This punk should do some hard time.  Maybe break his fingers.

“Just another misundertood artist…” A 15-year-old hacker known as Cosmo the God has been sentenced to six years of no Internet access. Even though Cosmo was found guilty of multiple felonies (credit card fraud, identity theft, bomb threats, and online impersonation) his lawyer whined that the sentence imposed on this “bright, gifted kid” was “like taking away Mozart’s piano.”

A new beginning

November 12, 2012

You know, this is just the time for moderate Republicans to form a Conservative party.  Actually, they might draw a few moderate Democrats to them as well.

Conserve what is good, and correct that which is faulty.

As a start I recommend an old, but not entirely outdated book on how to become a politician, not candidate: Robert Heinlein’s “Take Back Your Government” – 2012 edition.

If one doesn’t like the results of an election, then work to correct things, not carp.  Don’t like candidates, then run yourself!

Go for it!

The worst kind of people are those who confuse kindness for weakness. -Werner Makowski, banker (b. 1929)

Words of Wisdom!

There is nothing in the constitution about making a profit, nothing about being “businesslike.”

A government should not be run like a business; a business should not be run like a government.  They are very different.

Practical Politics

October 10, 2012

I am reading “How To Take Back Your Government” by Heinlein.  While it is somewhat dated, it is still very relevant.  I suggest getting the 2012 edition edited by Patterson.  I’m only about 60 pages in.  It is a great read.

Ye gads!  He would have a field day with the current election.  He would have lambasted both candidates, but especially the Republicans.

An interesting article.

September 11, 2012

I highly recommend the article by Michael Grunwald in the 17 September 2012 issue of time: One Nation On Welfare.  Living Your Life on The Dole.

If you don’t subscribe to TIME, copies should be available at your nearest library.  The article may not be what you expect.

Go Ronnie!

Go Ronnie!

“We establish no religion in this country. We command no worship. We mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are and must remain separate.” -Ronald Reagan, 40th US President (1911-2004)
