Jamming in the Barad-dûr Cafe!

September 26, 2010

A request to fans of JRR Tolkien & The Lord of the Rings:  I’ve been intrigued by the impact of The Hobbit & TLOTR on popular music in the 60’s and 70’s.

I would love to have a paper on this topic for my 3rd Conference On Middle-earth.

Any musicians/historians of popular culture out there?

The number of platinum record selling groups that began by singing hobbit songs in small bars & cafes is very large.

She was kind enough to mention the 3rd Conference On Middle-earth in her blog: http://www.kristinthompson.net/blog/?p=1342

Two years ago we slowed it down to 38 miles an hour now weve been able to park it then bring it back up to full speed. Lene Hau isnt talking about a used motorbike, but about light &mdash that ethereal, life-sustaining stuff that normally travels 93 million miles from the sun in about eight minutes.
