BAILOUT! [for the rich]

September 29, 2008

Bailout!  It sounds to me that rich politicians are writing a bailout bill for a bunch of rich businessmen [& maybe a very few rich businesswoman].  This is more transfer of money from the lower and middle classes to the rich.    No executive from any of the bailed out corporations will walk away without getting a pittance, for them, a lot of money for us.    A friend of mine commented on the fact that the recipients of all this money are possibly worried about the impact of the 2nd Amendment.  When one has lost everything, what else is there to lose.

McCain in NOV!

September 20, 2008

Poll: Racial views steer some away from Obama – One-third of polled white Democrats harbor negative views toward blacks.  40 percent of all white Americans hold at least a partly negative view toward blacks, and that includes many Democrats and independents. [MSNBC Article]

I wonder what the percentage would be for Republicans should their party ever put up a Black candidate.

30% of poll of Southern Voters in ’04 said, they couldn’t vote for a candidate who didn’t believe in Jesus.   I don’t doubt, the percentages would be much different elsewhere in the country.  I guess, Jews, Muslims, etc. had better not run and expect to win.

So I’ll vote for Obama in NOV, but expect to see McCain & Palin win.

Crikey!  McCain’s wife sells beer and Palin wers short skirts.  How could any red-blooded American Male not vote for that combination!

Sounds like Twain has it about right.

Bionic people!

September 17, 2008

A bunch of years ago I suggested using nanotubes as artificial nerves.  If one dopes a nano- or buckytube, fullerene, with a ion, it will conduct an electrical current.

I haven’t seen anything using this idea.

Still true today

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting. -George Orwell, writer (1903-1950)
