Cordless drills, new plastics, new strong lightweight metallic alloys, many, many other things are products of the space race. I think cutting NASA was a big mistake if only because to the new break-throughs we won’t see because of it.

I highly recommend Neil Tyson’s latest book, a collection of his essays.
The US spends on 0.47 cents out of each budget dollar on NASA. I would love to see it at 1 cent!
I keep hoping for the Chinese to set up colonies on both the Moon & Mars.
