I just finished up reading WRIGLEYVILLE by Peter Golenbock. It is an entertaining history of the Chicago Cubs. As a long time suffering Cub fan it I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is very interesting just how much of baseball is associated with the Cubs. The book may also have given rise to additional insanity on my part. Not that I would ever do anything crazy or unusual. – As I’ve noted before, only when I’m given the opportunity to buy tickets to the next Cubs World Series will they get there. I would like closure.

Cubs, not so loveable losers.
November 7, 2008Back to Wrigley Field, maybe.
October 30, 2008Glutton for punishment that I am, I’m going to try and get tickets for a Cubs game next May when I’ll be in the Chicago area. No doubt, they will lose. I rather doubt, if it will be easy. I’ll have a better chance at a seat for the Monday & Tuesday games. Unfortunately, I can’t try and get them until I have a better handle on when I’ll be there. – Of course, I’ll park the cr at the end of one of the El Lines and take the El to the game. Just like 55 years ago. – I haven’t the faintest idea of how my dad & I got to the World Series game. Probably by El. We lived near the end of the Ravenswood Branch.
“And they’re off!”
October 30, 2008I was just informed that our racing combine, SMOF Racing, has a new horse! Il Marchese. It was born late enough so that it will be considered a 2-year old in 2009. All Right! 2010 Kentucky Derby here we come! – SMOF Racing is mainly a bunch of SF fans. Several of the combine do have experience with horses. We are helping one of those fulfill a dream. Besides, it is rather neat to own 1% of a race horse. I believe, my portion is about half of the tail.
– I’m thinking about doubling my stake in the combine as there are still shares available. I’m most happy, I do have the couple extra bucks at this time for investment in a fun project such as this. “And they’re off!”
I pronounce you Finished!
October 3, 2008I pronounce the Cubs FINISHED! As long as the Cubs’ Organization ignores my request for tickets to a Cubs’ World Series, I’m more than willing to pay for them, the Cubs will NOT get to the Series! – The reason I want the tickets is for “Closure.” I was there at Wrigley Field in 1945 for Game 5 of the World Series. I would like to return there for another World Series. I have suffered pain, loss, tragedy, etc. for 63 years & counting. – THE CURSE OF THE WOMBAT IS NOW ON THE HEADS OF THE CUBS’ ORGANIZATION! I HAVE SPOKEN! [It actually began in 84 when they first dissed me.]
