I saw a piece at dKos by someone who’d taken a winter cruise on that ship. They apparently run a circular route, with people getting on and off at the various ports, but only run emergency drills once a week, so if an emergency happens, a lot of people won’t have been drilled. Someone else commented that they thought the crew wasn’t paying attention, or they’d have seen the island a lot sooner and not tried to go between the rocks: that person had seen the charts for the area.

It sounds as if there is plenty of folk who should be accepting blame.
I did my only cruise on Costa. We drilled very early; either before we left the pier or immediately thereafter. It was before dinner.
