I really believe, that drunk driving should be charged under “attempted murder or straight murder” statues. Come on, everyone has been told, while sober, that drinking and driving is illegal and incredibly stupid. Moreover, take a look at the stats. What is the percentage of auto deaths linked to DWI? How much money is lost due to people not working due to auto accidents? What are the hospital costs. Killing someone while under the influence is “Murder 1” as far as I’m concerned. It is premeditated murder! It is assault with a deadly weapon. Go ahead and drink, but DON’T get behind the wheel. Drunk behind the wheel? Using a gun? Not much difference in my book. You belong in jail for life!
